Home Educators Programme: What skills will future Royal Marines need?

You’ve completed your missions - but what might the next generation of Royal Marines need to tackle the challenges of the future? Join STEM specialists and Royal Navy personnel for the final Mission Critical debrief, where we will look back at what you have achieved and explore how new technologies and skills could shape future humanitarian operations.

Together, you will investigate how emerging technologies could help Royal Marines respond to complex and uncertain situations, from supporting communities affected by disasters to operating in challenging environments. Explore topics including robotics, artificial intelligence, data analysis, cyber security, remote sensing, engineering and environmental awareness, while considering the importance of teamwork, decision-making and leadership when the situation is constantly changing.

Designed by STEM specialist Rob Bennett for home educators, to complement the new Royal Marines Experience, this session brings together the challenges and skills explored throughout our year-long Mission Critical programme. It is an opportunity to connect your practical STEM learning to real-world applications and consider how the skills you have developed could be used in future careers.

Most importantly, this is your chance to celebrate what you have achieved as part of the Mission Critical HADR task group, share ideas with fellow home educators and meet the people helping to prepare for the challenges ahead.

Younger siblings can also get involved with activities designed especially for them.

Tickets include access to the full Historic Dockyard site on this day, so you can continue your adventure before or after the session.
